With the blessings of His Eminence Metropolitan Jonah Lwanga, His Grace Bishop Silvester Kisitu of Gulu and Eastern Uganda today officiated the launching of the Covid19 mitigation equipment donated by UOMB – Uganda Orthodox Medical Bureau with support from IOCC – International Orthodox Christian Charities at Holy Cross Orthodox Mission Hospital – Namungoona.
These equipments were donated as a result of the increasing COVID19 cases in Uganda which are currently resulting into deaths at an alarming rate.
Some of the mitigation equipment donated include; Medical gowns, theatre aprons, temperature guns, gumboots, IEC materials, cleaning materials, hand washing utensils.
Dr. Sande George, the Executive Secretary of UOMB, clarified that this was a launch done at HCOH, however, such mitigation activities will continue and will be disseminated to the rest of the health facilities in Uganda Orthodox Church Health network soon. He further urged all the health workers to stick to the MOH guidelines for mitigating the pandemic which has started causing mortality in the country.
On behalf of the Uganda Orthodox Church, His Grace commended the tremendous work of the IOCC through the Bureau, prayed for the intervention of the healing hand of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ to enable us to overcome the pandemic and flagged off the distribution of the materials to the rest of the medical facilities.
